PriceThatTool.com Launches Outdoor Equipment Parts Department

PriceThatTool.com, an online price comparison engine for tools – has kicked off  the winter season by adding snow blower replacement parts and other outdoor power equipment parts to their expanding website.

Price That Tool is not an online retailer, but a free website for consumers and handymen to compare prices from retailers for the parts and tools they need to accomplish their fix ‘em up goals.
With the frigid temperatures approaching and heavy snowfall expected in many parts of the United States, PriceThatTool is partnering with a number of parts retailers to offer the lowest prices on replacement parts for snowblowers and other outdoor equipment.
PriceThatTool will offer comparison pricing on OEM and some after-market parts for all major brands of snow blowers, including Ariens, Toro, MTD, and Murray. A wide selection of replacement parts will be available including belts, bearings, paddles, and maintenance kits.
Also available on the popular tool price comparison website are a full line of tune-up and replacement parts for Briggs & Stratton, Honda, Tecumseh, Kawasaki, and Kohler small engines.

New Furniture Price Comparison Website: www.FurnitureDealsandSteals.com

FurnitureDealsandSteals.com is the new kid on the block.

Nicayla Enterprises, Inc. began creating niche comparison engines a couple of years ago to help consumers find what they need at the lowest price without having to page through thousands of unrelated products.  Price comparison engines can be useful, but they also can be cumbersome when they try to be the Jack of all Trades – ie.. list all products in all verticals.

The first price comparison website to launch was Petazon – A pet product price comparison site.  Petazon was a huge success with most major retailers jumping on board within a month of launch.  Today, Petazon is an established pet supply price comparison engine and is enjoyed by thousands and thousands of cost conscious consumers that own pets or buy for pet lover friends.

The next comparison engine to launch was PriceThatTool.com – a Tool and Hardware Comparison Site.  PriceThatTool started out with a buzz  - you could say it was a chainsaw buzz.  Northern Tool, FarmGeneral, Hardware and Tool, and many other online retailers jumped on board.  Now, the only comparison engine for tools and hardware, PriceThatTool is a first stop shop for many handyman across the US and Canada.

Next up, was Appliance Life – Appliance and Appliance Part comparison website.  Appliance repair parts are hard to find online.  Part retailers normally have their say when setting prices – but not when a consumer uses Appliance Life comparison engine!  Appliance Life also allows visitors to compare the price of many highly regarded appliance brands – like LG, Sears and others.

Tadah!  Now FurnitureDealsandSteals is storming the online furniture retail market, with a no nonsense price comparison engine for Living Room Furniture, Contempory Furniture, Dining Rooms and so much more.  Furniture Deals and Steals also features a number of great brands like KidKraft and Thomasville Furniture.

Stop on by our newest website – we know you will love it!

Panacea Log Racks – It’s that time of year!

As the nights get chillier and longer and our instincts tell us it’s time to curl up by the fire, we know it’s time to spend our evenings with loved ones.

Keep your fire logs organized and easy-to-get-to with a Panacea Log Rack.  The Racks are sturdy and come in multiple sizes depending on how many logs you’d like to keep close to your back door!

One of our visitors wrote:  ”Looked around for a rack for my back porch and came across this on BackyardStyle.com. Bought it, and it came in a few days.  It was very easy and fast to put together.

Loaded it to the top with firewood it is solid as a rock. The cover it came with is a little over sized if you have longer pieces of wood mine are 16 to 20 inch pieces .

The reason I’m telling you the length of the wood is to say the cover fits kinda lose over the rack and wood so its not a pain to slide the cover over it after you load up your wood.

Love this thing, should have bought it years ago.”

Pictured to the right is the 4 foot fire log rack.  These can be used indoor or outdoor.

Change of Seasons causes Stink Bug Habit Changes

Stink bugs–some of us have never seen one, and some wish they would disappear. One thing is for certain, dealing with stink bugs is sometimes a difficult job.
Thousands of Sterling Rescue Traps with great success, but now some consumers are noting that they aren’t working. Is the trap bad? No! With the change of seasons, so comes the change in habits of these pesky bugs. This means it is important to change the method of trapping and getting rid of stink bugs.
As the time for hibernation approaches, the sex attractant found in normal traps will no longer do the trick. As the stink bug looks to hibernate in the warmth of our houses, they turn off their sex drive.
For the traps to work in the colder months, it is necessary to remove the attractant from the traps, attach the stink bug light, which is one of this week’s Featured Products, and move the trap inside to draw these creatures to the warmth inside the trap.

Fall is arriving quickly and the right tools can help!

Fall Landscape and Yardwork

  • Although grass appears to stop growing in the fall, the roots are actually growing deeper to prepare for winter. Now is the best time to fertilize and reseed your lawn.
  • Prune your trees and shrubs after the leaves turn to encourage healthy growth.
  • Trim any tree limbs that are dangerously close to power lines or the roof of your house.  Heavy snow and ice can cause damage in the winter.

Heating Systems

  • Replace the filter in your furnace.
Consider having a heating professional check your heating system to ensure optimal performance and discover minor problems before they turn into costly major repairs.
  • Clean your ducts to better your heating system’s efficiency as well as to reduce household dust and to provide relief to those with respiratory problems.

Windows and Doors

  • Change summer screens to cool weather storm windows and doors.
  • Inspect and repair any loose or damaged window or door frames.
  • Install weather stripping or caulking around windows and doors to prevent drafts and to lower heating bills.

Do you Have a Good Pair of Hedge Shears?

Hedge shears are often underestimated in the amount of yard work they can handle.  I personally find them to be quite the useful tool.  If you have lots of hedges that require trimming, you have found your tool.  For smaller trimming jobs, you will need pruning tools.

Hedge shears are generally 2 feet long from end of the tip to the end of the handle.  Based on this size, it is very easy to handle this tool.  The average person will have no problem using hedge shears for an extended period of time.  You will be able to get a lot of cutting done without getting fatigued because of how comfortable they are to hold.

After much research, the hedge shears I chose to buy are Fiskars Gator Hedge Shears, pictured to the right.  The drop-forged carbon steel blades are designed to last you a long time.  Of all of the materials that can make up hedge shear blade’s, drop-forged carbon steel is the most tough and long-lasting.  Plus, the blades on this particular pair of shears are self-sharpening.  Plus, where the blades meet the handle is extremely secure, also contributing to the longevity of these hedge shears.

Blades of hedge shears can either be wavy or serrated.  Personal preference comes into play wen deciding which blades you want.  In my experience, wavy blades are good for holding branches in place and do not gather dirt.  Serrated edge blades, like the ones on the Fiskars Gator Hedge Shears, are good for a nice clean cut.  I also find that they can tackle thick branches.

Another important aspect of hedge shears is the handle.  The Fiskars Gator Hedge Shear’s handle is made of tubular steel (versus the heavier hardwood of other handles), and is covered with a comfort rubber grip.
